Professional Angler competing in the WBT and the
Bass Weekend Series Tournament Trails
This recipe was given to me by a neighbor that passed
away several years ago. He was an excellent cook, and would often try
new recipes, or create his own. Everyone made a point to have areason
to go by his house around the holidays because he alwyas had some candy
or cookies for sampling.

SUGAR COOKIES
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup oil
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp crean of tartar
Cream sugars and margarine until fluffy. Add oil and eggs;
continue beating, add vanilla. Sift together salt, baking soda, cream of tartar
and flour. Add to misture a little at a time while steadily mixing. Mix well.
Form small balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet
and press flat with a glass dipped in sugar (I usually press them to about
1/8 of an inch thick). Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 9 minutes, or until the
edges turn slightly brown.
I always double this recipe whe I make these cookies. They
have proven to be favorite and no one can eat just one. Around the holidays
my daughters and I nake them and use cookie stencils to sprinkle colored sugars
in designs of the holiday season.
